Hi Folks
Happy New Year – hope you are all well and fighting fit for a new squash year !!
I am quite busy with other squash activities at the moment, so Justin Nemeth, who plays for the C team and is a very keen player, has volunteered to write the team newsletter on a regular basis. Thanks for your help Justin.
Any feedback to Justin or myself is welcome.
Cheers Howard Jones squash@swanseatennisandsquashclub.com

The Spring 2020 Squash season kicks off this week and here’s a recap of how Swansea did last season, which finished just before Christmas.
Last season was a good one for all 3 teams. Our A team, newly promoted to South Wales Premier 2 Division, finished the season mid table in 5th position. An excellent result in a much tougher league. They were only 9 points behind Abergavenny B, who finished 3rd position.
The B team, playing in South Wales One West, also exceeded expectations and finished in 3rd position, winning 8 of their 12 matches. Losing 2 very close away matches against Porthcawl A and Llandeilo A, but beating them both in the return home fixtures. The other 2 losses coming against an unbeaten Bridgend A, who dominated the division.
Finally, the C team, competing in West Glamorgan One, also had a very successful season, finishing 2nd to a very strong Neath A team and winning 9 of their 12 matches. They finished 1 point ahead of Llandeilo B, who are always strong, which was significant seeing as they finished below them the previous season. A good sign of improvement – similar to the A and B teams. Maybe it’s time to add a D team?
